A Circular Economy
IonKraft is a spin-off startup from the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at the RWTH Aachen University. Millions of plastic containers every year can be made recyclable with our coating technology. Many chemical products have high demands on their packaging. Therefore, inexpensive packaging plastics are currently combined with expensive barrier plastics in multi-layer packaging containers, which are a challenge for recycling.
We have developed a barrier coating system on mono-material plastics, which can provide the same functional properties as the multi-material approach in terms of barrier and chemical resistance, but they are significantly less expensive and most importantly fully recyclable.
